Haritha Nature Club in collaboration with college IQAC has observed World Environment Day on Monday, June 6- 2022. The programme was scheduled at 9:30 am and the venue was college auditorium. The scheduled programs can be divided in to three sessions, each one reveals the uniqueness which it holds.
Session one includes Prayer and Acharyanusmaranam, followed by Welcome speech by Dr. Sheeba Krishnan (Nature Club Coordinator), Presidential address by Sri. Ananthakrishnan(College Union Chairman). The inaugural address was given by Prof.(Dr). Ampili Aravind (Principal, NSS TC, Ottapalam). Felicitations were offered by Dr.K S Sajan(IQAC Coordinator), Dr. Lekshmi V(Staff advisor), Sri.Akhil K Sreedhar(Staff Secretary), and Sri. Suresh Kumar(Head Accountant). Vote of thanks was delivered by Nithu C Babu(Secertary, Haritha Nature Club). The stage was decorated using natural materials.
Inaguration of “PLANT A SAPLING CEREMONY” and “SEED DISTRIBUTION” was executed by our respected Principal. The planting of sapling was performed within the campus which significantly address the need to be the beacon for environmental resilience. Followed to this, two more initiatives were conducted, which includes the distribution of saplings and seeds. These two ventures were systematically organized by google form registration mode under the headings, “ Let’s Adopt A Tree: Register and collect” and Let’s keep planting seeds : Register and Collect”. The active registration of students marked its success.
Prizes were distributed to winners of competitions conducted in connection with International Day for Biological Diversity- May 22nd , 2022. The competitions conducted include, Photography under the title “Send A Snap” with theme Biological Diversity and Short story writing with theme ‘Life in the midst of nature’. The winners were appreciated by trophies on this occasion by respected teachers.
In addition to this, Seed Exhibition will conducted on 7th June 2022 to emphasize the importance of nurture the nature by our own actions. Seed distribution, like saplings will be done according with google form registration details.
The session three “Leave your Footprints” , include various activities performed by BEd and MEd students. With in this, ‘ധാരിണി’, dance performance by MEd first year based on World Environment Day theme 2022 was performed followed by inaugural ceremony. As a cultural event it addresses the worst conditions created by human towards the Earth. Also interpreting nature via photography was performed by MEd second year.
Further activities under this session will going to perform in following days within the college campus. It includes,
Campus Mapping
It deals with mapping outdoor classroom possibility- an initiative to rebuild healthy open spaces. It will be organized by BEd Social Science.
Reinforce greenery on campus
This activity will be performed by BEd English and is overwhelmed with an eco-friendly approach to plant seedling in biodegradable materials – which eventually concern the health of ecosystem.
Documentary
The documentary dealing with sustainable development with in the campus will be created by BEd Natural science- it deals with the concept of environmental equilibrium which will further paved to sustainable development goals.
Think Green
The initiative of waste management – Reuse, Reduce, Recycle will be performed by BEd Physical science which will be an initiative towards the phrase zero waste within in campus.

The video will be dealing with the explanations about green decisions in campus and will be performed by BEd Malayalam.
Floriculture in earthen pots
This activity will be organized by BEd Mathematics, which will obviously enhance the aesthetic value of campus.
Along with these activities which leave footprints,‘സൃഷ്ടി’ – nature’s workshop will be organised for Haritha nature club members. For taking positive environmental actions to conserve natural resources and planet Earth , Hartitha nature club programme intends to advance environmental protection as strong decision and hence these activities on campus rehabilitate the environment.

World Environment Day is celebrated every year on 5th June to raise global awareness for taking positive environmental actions to conserve natural resources and planet Earth. In this context, Haritha Nature Club of NSS Training College, Ottapalam in collaboration with College IQAC has decided to observe World Environment Day on 6th June 2022.On this occasion and based on World Environment Day Theme 2022- Only One Earth, the Haritha Nature Club programme intends to advance environmental protection as strong decision and encourage various activities on campus to rehabilitate the environment.
