National Seminar on Democracy, Constitution & Social Justice –

NSS Training College organized a 2 day National Seminar on ‘Democracy, Constitution & Social Justice – A Contemplation’ on 9th and 10th November 2023, sponsored by The Institute of Parliamentary Affairs and in association with IQAC and NSS ( Unit-301).


India with a uniqueness in its spirit and content and being one of the largest democracies in the world, the topics the seminar addressed were important.The goals set by the Constitution are yet to be achieved. In this background, the seminar mainly focused to crically analyse and deliberate upon Democracy, Constitution & Social Justice in order to develop a comprehensive understanding of the different aspects involved and come forth with some appropriate solutions, modes, strategies and policy framework.

The seminar was well begun with a very formal inaugural session.The chief guest for the session was the Hon.MLA Mr.Premkumar K.The college principal Prof.Dr Ampili Aravind delivered the presidential address and welcome speech was given by Dr Seema Menon KP (Associate Professor) and also the seminar co-ordinator.Mrs Janaki Devi ( Municipal Chairman), Dr.Vijesh TP (District Co-ordinator),Dr.K.S Sajan ( IQAC co- ordinator), Dr.Lekshmi V ( Staff Secretary), Mr.Suresh Kumar ( Head accountant) gave the felicitations.

Both the days witnessed technical sessions by experts from the field including
Prof.Dr P J Vincent (Professor & Head Dept of History,Govt.Arts and Science College, Kozhikode)
Dr Soniya Das ( Associate Professor ,Gov.Law College, Thrissur)
Dr. Anuja S ( Associate professor -Law, Manipal Law School)
Dr.Sankaranarayanan Paleeri (Assistant Professor ,NSSTC, Ottappalam).
The sessions were insightsful and thought provoking and added immense value to the discussions on the topic.

The gathering of the seminar was enriched with more than 230 participants from different districts of Kerala.Nearly 58 papers were presented and experts chaired the sessions.
All the areas were well coordinated which included tea, and lunch being provided on both the days .

This seminar brought together experts, policymakers, scholars and practitioners to contemplate democracy, constitution and social justice in India. It provided a platform for multiplinary dicussions on various topics of importance.
